Training as a qualified nurse

• You will acquire the theoretical knowledge at a vocational college.
• The practical training takes place in one of our nursing homes or in one of our ambulatory care services in your area and at various practical locations (e.g. in a hospital).
• As part of the generalist nursing training, you will get to know all nursing fields – geriatric nursing, nursing and paediatric nursing – and choose one of the three specializations.
• You will be accompanied by practical instructors throughout your training. They will show you how theory works in practice.
• 3 years are over in no time – at the end you will sit your state examination to become a qualified nurse.
   

• You are part of an interprofessional team and work closely with many other professional groups.
• You look after people in need of care.
• You implement the care process.
• You plan nursing measures, carry them out and document them.
• You carry out doctors' orders.
• You will develop an understanding of the quality of care and play an active role in improving it.
• You will experience a lot of human interaction and will sometimes reach your limits, but your team is always there for you.

• An intermediate school-leaving certificate and/or completed training as a one-year certified nursing assistant (f/m/d)
• A B2 German certificate (only for foreign school-leaving qualifications)
• An impeccable certificate of good conduct
• The ability to work well in a team
• Full commitment to work and a high willingness to learn
• Willingness to work in shifts - including weekends and public holidays
• Empathy and patience as well as enjoyment of working with older people
• An interest in medical and nursing contexts
